We are pleased to announce the latest update to INTERACT, our virtual reality simulation software tailored for industrial applications. INTERACT, is a Unity plugin that allows you to create industrial simulations in VR. Here are the major new features and commands that are available in the solution with this latest release.
VR Enhancements
1. Customizable avatars now in INTERACT
The customisable avatar feature allows users to easily replace the default avatar with their own choice through Ready Player Me integration, enhancing immersion and identification. We have created a specific gallery for various sectors, such as nuclear and construction, offering a selection tailored to the specific needs of the industries concerned, giving users the opportunity to choose avatars and clothing relevant to their simulation scenarios.
This is particularly notable for the nuclear sector, with the gallery offering a specialist selection of avatars designed to meet the unique requirements of nuclear facilities. From protective clothing to specialist equipment, users can now embody characters equipped to meet the challenges of nuclear simulation scenarios.
2. Walk navigation
To enhance maneuverability within the virtual environment, we have implemented a "Walk" navigation feature. This functionality enables users to navigate seamlessly without the need for vertical movement, offering a more intuitive and efficient navigation experience.
Library optimization
Closed loop component for robots: In this update, all robotic entities within the INTERACT library have been upgraded to utilize closed loop components. This functionality ensures greater precision and stability in robotic simulations, leading to more accurate and realistic outcomes in industrial scenarios.
Editor tools
1. Axis selection mode
We have introduced a new mode within the editor interface to streamline axis selection. By pressing the "??" key while in the focus of the scene view, users can switch to triangle detection mode, facilitating precise axis selection for manipulation tasks. Pressing those keys again resets the mode to shape detection, ensuring flexibility and efficiency in editing workflows.
2. Axis manipulation tool
A new editor tool has been added to facilitate the manipulation of physicalized objects by their axis. It empowers users with finer control over object manipulation, allowing for more precise adjustments and interactions within the virtual environment.
Many features and fixes have been implemented in this new version. If you need more detailed information on the release, check our changelog in the documentation.
All these improvements are designed to optimize your industrial operations and avoid problems associated with faulty assemblies.
